- Bitcoin continues to face downward pressure near $80,000, with the dynamic SuperTrend line acting as immediate support.
- Ethereum extends its losing streak to five consecutive sessions as selling pressure intensifies ahead of Wednesday’s Federal Reserve rate decision.
- XRP edges lower below $1.30, with weakening momentum signals and limited upside potential weighing on its price.

Cryptocurrency markets continued to retreat on Monday, with Bitcoin (BTC) extending its decline for a fifth consecutive day. Trading near $80,000, Bitcoin faces limited upside potential despite support from longer-term moving averages that could help absorb further selling pressure.
Ethereum (ETH) slipped toward $2,325 as bearish momentum strengthened, keeping sellers in control of the short-term trend. Meanwhile, Ripple (XRP) hovered around $1.28, with resistance near $1.30 restricting recovery attempts and leaving the token vulnerable to further losses.
Market Sentiment Weakens Ahead of Fed Rate Decision
Investor sentiment toward digital assets weakened ahead of Wednesday’s Federal Reserve (Fed) policy announcement. Markets largely expect the central bank to leave interest rates unchanged at 3.75%–4.00%, with CME Group’s FedWatch Tool indicating approximately a 91% probability of steady rates and a 9% chance of a rate increase.
The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) previously raised rates by 25 basis points in September, marking its first rate hike in three years. The decision reflected persistent inflation and rising energy costs associated with the conflict in the Middle East.

Inflation in the United States remains above the Fed’s 2% long-term target, keeping monetary policy uncertainty elevated. Investors will therefore pay close attention to Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s post-meeting remarks for further guidance on the policy outlook. Meanwhile, economists increasingly anticipate the possibility of a rate cut in December.
Risk appetite across cryptocurrency markets has also weakened. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index fell to 50 on Monday from 54 the previous day, while remaining below last month’s average of 74. The decline highlights growing caution amid macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainty, as investors await a catalyst capable of restoring sustained demand.
Bitcoin Technical Analysis: Sellers Defend Resistance Near $80,800
Bitcoin traded around $80,061, maintaining a constructive medium-term outlook as prices remained above the SuperTrend indicator at $79,664 and the 100-day and 200-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs) at $77,681 and $76,322, respectively.

However, the 50-day EMA at $80,797 continues to limit upward movement, acting as immediate resistance. Momentum indicators also point to weakening bullish strength, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 41 and the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) histogram remaining negative.
On the downside, initial support stands near $79,664 at the SuperTrend line. A break below this level could expose the 100-day EMA at $77,681, followed by the 200-day EMA around $76,322. Together, these moving averages form an important support zone for the broader trend.
Conversely, a decisive daily close above $80,797 could improve the short-term outlook and create room for further gains. Failure to overcome this resistance, however, may leave Bitcoin consolidating or retreating toward its immediate support levels.
Ethereum Technical Analysis: Bearish Momentum Intensifies Near $2,317
Ethereum traded around $2,322, hovering just above the 200-day EMA at $2,317 while remaining below the 100-day EMA at $2,363 and the 50-day EMA at $2,459. This positioning keeps the near-term outlook bearish, with multiple moving averages restricting recovery attempts.
The SuperTrend indicator at $2,580 reinforces the prevailing downward bias. Meanwhile, the MACD remains below zero and the RSI has declined toward 34, indicating persistent selling pressure and momentum approaching oversold territory.

On the upside, initial resistance is located at $2,363, followed by the 50-day EMA near $2,459. A stronger resistance barrier sits at $2,580, where a sustained breakout would be needed to provide more convincing evidence of a bullish reversal.
On the downside, the 200-day EMA at $2,317 represents immediate support. A daily close below this threshold could trigger a deeper correction, while continued stability above it may allow ETH to consolidate and attempt another move toward the mid-$2,300 range.
XRP Technical Analysis: Recovery Remains Capped Below $1.30
XRP traded near $1.28, maintaining a bearish short-term outlook as its price remained below all three key moving averages. The 100-day EMA at $1.33, the 50-day EMA at $1.36 and the 200-day EMA at $1.37 form an overhead resistance zone that could restrict any recovery.
Momentum indicators continue to reflect weakness. The MACD remains below zero despite a slight improvement, while the RSI near 38 indicates sustained selling pressure, with the token approaching oversold conditions but showing no clear reversal signal.

Initial resistance stands at $1.33, followed by $1.36 and $1.37. Reclaiming this cluster would help ease the current bearish structure, although XRP would still face a more significant obstacle at the SuperTrend indicator near $1.45.
The broader downward resistance trendline continues to indicate a pattern of lower highs, reinforcing the negative outlook while prices remain below the key moving averages.
Overall, Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP face mounting technical headwinds as investors adopt a cautious stance ahead of the Federal Reserve’s policy decision. Bitcoin’s ability to defend support near $79,664, Ethereum’s hold above $2,317 and XRP’s response to resistance around $1.30 will be key levels to monitor in the near term.
