Bitcoin Technical Analysis: Could Bullish Momentum Trigger a Fresh Rally?

Last Updated on 05/10/2026

The daily BTC/USD chart shows a notable improvement in Bitcoin’s price structure after successfully establishing a strong base between $57,500 and $60,000. This foundation was followed by a strong bullish advance, allowing Bitcoin to overcome multiple resistance levels and rise toward $86,000. The move signals a transition from consolidation to a more bullish phase, supported by a pattern of higher highs and higher lows. Bitcoin is now testing an important resistance area near $87,500, which could play a decisive role in determining whether the current uptrend can continue. Maintaining support within the $82,500–$84,000 region remains crucial for preserving the constructive technical setup, particularly while BTC/USD holds above previously breached resistance levels.

From a technical standpoint, Fibonacci retracement levels identify $80,000 as the first major support, corresponding to the 0.236 retracement. Below this, the $76,500 area around the 0.382 retracement provides a stronger support level, while $72,500 near the 0.5 retracement represents another important downside zone. Recent trading activity indicates that Bitcoin has entered a consolidation period beneath key resistance, which could represent a phase of momentum building before the next significant directional move. A decisive breakout above $87,500, confirmed by a daily close above this level, would improve the outlook for a broader advance toward $95,000 and potentially $97,500. In contrast, a decline below $80,000 could trigger a deeper pullback toward the next support areas, although this would not necessarily invalidate the medium-term bullish trend.

Overall, Bitcoin is approaching a crucial technical area that may determine the direction of its next major move. A temporary move above $87,500 would not, by itself, provide sufficient confirmation of a renewed bullish trend. Sustained price action above this resistance, combined with the development of a solid base above the breakout level, would offer stronger confirmation. Meanwhile, continued consolidation above $82,500 and the maintenance of higher lows would keep the broader bullish outlook intact and leave room for further gains. However, a decisive break below $80,000 would raise the risk of a deeper correction toward $76,500, with $72,500 becoming a potential target if selling pressure accelerates. Therefore, Bitcoin’s ability to overcome the $87,500 resistance will be a key factor in determining its next major move, while the support levels below will remain critical for evaluating the strength and sustainability of the broader bullish structure.

Support Levels: $80,000 — $76,500 — $72,500
Resistance Levels: $87,500 — $95,000 — $97,500
